    2002 Subaru Bugeye Build

I bought my new project today. It is a 2002 Subaru Impreza. Non-turbo and optioned out with a blown motor. The car looks like crap but the altezza taillights will make it pop!

My plans for this car are not yet finalized. It will get a heart transplant for sure. Enjoy some pictures of this monster!

Does the transmission it has work on a turbo motor? I don't know why I've never seen many people convert the na imprezas to wrxs kind of surprised you got something japanese. This is my. Second favorite wrx body style It would have been the first if they would have made an sti model available in the states.

Don't know much about the drivetrain. Probably going to sell off everything. Got some plans but still finalizing everything. Budget vs skills vs ability.

Yeah hopefully it does swap over if not I wonder if it would be worth the headache. A part of me thinks not though because I've never heard of someone making an na to turbo but then again that could just be because the turbos aren't much more generally I would love to find one of these in wrx form already hell even as a wagon would be cool. Maybe next year.

Im thinking the tranny will work with a WRX motor, but even so, I would probably try to source a WRX transmission. A motor swap should be pretty straightforward though.

$4500 just for the engine. Ecu, transmission, custom wiring, etc is extra. Bit out of my price point.

well, in the Subaru world it isnt, but in general, I agree. But I agree, while cool, an LS swap in a Subie just doesnt do it for me.

also, I assume you're browing nasioc often for parts, pawa?

Daily. I have a list of parts I need from nasioc. Majority of that parts will come from a donor car. Looking for a donor car everywhere. The options are 2006-2007 WRX or 2004-2007 STI. No point swapping in a EJ205, could have just bought a bugeye wrx.

I don't know what I will be able to source but if everything comes out perfectly, I want to make a JDM/USDM bugeye STI hybrid.

That's about all I am good at!

Moved the car to a shop so I can start working on the body. Neighbors wouldn't be to happy if I did it in my garage. The beauty of living in a subdivision...

I do a lot of stuff in my garage, just don't want to push my luck. My neighbors already looks weird at me when I am pulling engines out of cars and have bear shells leaving my garage. They think I am a mini chop shop.
